Ok, so I can get a little scatter brained at times (or maybe I’m just juggling too much?) and I find that very often I’m in need of a really good evaluation of what’s going on in my own mind in order to organize and move forward. Usually this involves writing stuff down on notebook paper, or going through my priorities, like I wrote about here.
Anyway, I decided to try something new by sharing a post every Wednesday that contains pictures and ideas of what I’ve been contemplating over the week. This is mostly for me to get organized, but hopefully you’ll benefit from it too!
So, this week, I’ve been thinking a lot about baskets, the wire ones to be specific. I am just about crazy about how rustic and charming they look. They are full of functionality, yet add this layer of texture to any decor. I found myself pinning pictures of them like crazy and gushing over the ones in Hobby Lobby.
I definitely love these chicken wire command center baskets from Domestic Imperfection. I could so see these in my office area.
What happens when you put something amazing together with something awesome? You get an old ladder/wire basket storage solution, that’s what! I love this one from My Creative Days.
Brian likes it when my projects have function and practicality. Well, that would be covered if I had these dry storage baskets for the kitchen! These are from Martha Stewart.
Maybe my obsession with these has to do with the fact that they involve organization and farmhouse style. Love it! These were Walmart baskets for only $10! Found them on All People Quilt.
How could anyone not love this table decoration from The 36th Avenue?
The sad thing is: I’m not the only one loving this style, and when a lot of people love something, the price goes up. Not that I would have bought them at the store anyway, I hardly ever buy home decor new and have a little annoyance with old looking things on the shelves of a store when the “real thing” can be found for half the price at a garage sale, thrift store, flea market, or father-in-law’s barn.
Thus begs the question: how am I going to satisfy this need for a few of these lovelies? Why, make them of course! I mean, how could I not, with a husband working for an electrician and having access to all kinds of discarded leftover wire. So, be on the look out for homemade wire baskets
What do you think of these? Cute? too trendy? or should be left in the barn?
I am in the process if redoing my laundry room and adding a mud room to one corner. So I am all about baskets and organization right now. I like getting some creative ideas. And these ones are awesome!
