But, I’ll make it up to you with this amazing little project that I am crazy excited about! While doing my pre-Christmas decorating research (i.e. scrolling through Pinterest for an endless number of hours), I stumbled upon a certain look classified as “Scandinavian Christmas”.

Talk about an absolutely exact look I want in our home this year! Anyway, one of the first pins that comes up every time I search those terms is this lovely one:
Unfortunately, I could find the original source, nor could I find a tutorial or link to buy the little beauties. There was only one thing to do: make them myself! You can too! Get your supplies ready for some Scandinavian Christmas fabric ornaments.

You’ll need:
- Cheap Bulb* you no longer love
- Painter’s drop cloth*
- Burlap*
- Hot glue gun*
- Twine*
The Tutorial:
This little project will only take a few minutes per bulb. I was able to do eight before breakfast (but not before coffee, obviously) and costs very little to no money if you have the supplies on hand.
Start by cutting your fabric into strips. I was using scraps from a bunting banner (hence the triangles).
Then, spread some hot glue on one side of a strip and place it carefully (so as not to burn yourself…like I did…multiple times) onto the bulb. You could probably use other types of glue, this was just what I had on hand.
Don’t stress about perfect placement of the strips, just keep placing them so that they cover the entire bulb.
Last, tie some twine onto the top to finish them up.
Aren’t they just as dreamy as fresh Scandinavian snow on a crisp Christmas morning?

I can’t wait to hang them on our tree, which isn’t up yet because we always get a real tree and I’d like for it to actually have some needles left by Christmas day ;). But, when we do put up the tree this year it will be perfectly simple, natural, and adorned with lovely neutral ornaments like these.

Did you figure out what the five countries are yet? I’ll tell ya! They are: Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Iceland. Personally, I’d love to visit Demark most of all of those. How about you?
