I’ve recently had conversations with a few other bloggers and there was one sentiment that echoed every time:
Blogging is hard!
We, who are trying to make something of our little corners of the internet, all agree that professional blogging is ridiculously difficult to manage. There is so much to remember: contacts, passwords, post ideas, dates…the daily to do list can be overwhelming with hundreds of tasks.
I have been working at it for almost a year now and have wondered more than once whether it’s worth it. Just recently I shared a very honest Periscope (@charmimperfect if you want to look me up) about if I want to keep going with it or not. There is a chance I might have quit had I not discovered one online tool that has literally changed everything.
I’ve tried to use printed blog planners many times and the same thing kept happening: they’d get placed in a drawer to keep my office space clean and forgotten. I continually wished there was a planner on the computer to use to manage Charming Imperfections. This would be perfect because I check it every day anyway and it would mean less paper mess.
Excel, google calendar, evernote….I tried all of them with little success. Turns out having too many different places to go to keep organized means you don’t stay organized. In the same way the paper planner got shoved in a drawer, the digital planners were forgotten.
Long story short, I needed ONE place on my computer to keep my blog organized and running well continuously and consistently.
And, that’s when I found 17Hats.
*Links to 17hats contain a referral code letting them know I sent you.*
17Hats is an online business management tool for solo business owners, especially in creative fields. I decided to give the 15 day free trial a go because, once again, I was searching for a solution to manage my blog.
It goes without saying that I LOVED it and am so excited to share it with you!
First, I do want to say 17hats is for serious bloggers, those that are working towards growing a brand of their own to make an income. The reason I say that is, it’s an investment. You will pay to use the services it provides and if you aren’t bringing income in (or don’t intend to eventually), it’s not for you.
That being said, if you are like me and have worked like crazy to build a business online…17hats will pay for itself over and over in the time it saves you.
Here I am going on and on about how great it is without giving you any actual evidence!
Since there are so many awesome features to using 17hats as a professional blogger, I am going to present them to you in a series of blog posts, rather than in one long post. Please check back for the next post on Monday (10/19) which will explain exactly how 17hats replaces any paper planner and even goes beyond by providing automatic organization. After that I’ll show you how I use the calendar option, how “Workflow” has changed my blogging world, bookkeeping made easy for bloggers, and finally, how to use 17hats for monetizing your blog.
I hope you will join me for the next posts because I am seriously very excited about sharing this amazing tool with you.
